Lexington, KY (May 20, 2008) - The United States Dressage Federation's Youth Executive Board is pleased to announce the availability of the 2008 USDF Youth Convention Scholarships. The USDF Youth Convention Scholarships award four youth participating members up to $1,000 each to help defray their costs for attending the Adequan/USDF Annual Convention.   Packed with educational programs, fun events, and a great trade fair, the Adequan/USDF Annual Convention is an invaluable opportunity for all youth interested in dressage. The 2008 Adequan/USDF National Convention and Symposium will be held December 3-7, 2008 in Denver, CO. Applications are due August 15, 2008.
Candidates for the scholarship are selected by the USDF Youth Executive Board based upon participation in USDF or dressage-related activities, written communication skills, desire to learn, and ways in which the candidate plans to share the knowledge gained at the convention.
Funds for the scholarships have been raised by the USDF Youth Executive Board through a silent auction held each year at the Adequan/USDF Annual Convention. The Youth Executive Board welcomes the donation of items for this year's silent auction. Past auction items have included saddles and tack, original art and photography, equestrian apparel and jewelry, vacation and spa packages, and donations of training or judging sessions. All auction proceeds will benefit the Youth Executive Board Scholarship Fund.
