Members may generate a list by region of riders qualified for the Regional Championships (see Qualified Horse and Rider List)

  • Do you know in which Region your home state falls? (see Group Membership Organization List)
  • Did you apply for a Change of Region? If so, did you receive a confirmation letter? If not, check the list (See Region Changes)
  • Do you know the location and dates of the championship in your Region? (see Competions/Results)
  • Do you know the dates of your Region's qualifying season? (see Qualifying Seasons) Your qualifying scores must have been ridden within the dates of your Region's current year qualifying season.
  • Do you know the Program Rules? (see Competition Handbook) Did you know:
    • You must be a USDF Participating Member (USDF members who join USDF directly).*
    • You must be a USEF member (Junior, Senior, or Life).* (see USEF)
    • Your horse must be USDF Lifetime Registered. Horse registration must be in the name(s) of the current owner(s) or lessee(s) of record.*
    • Your horse must be USEF (Annual or Lifetime) recorded. Horse recording must be in the name of the current owner(s) or lessee(s) of record.*
    • Your horse does not have to be breed registered.
    • The horse's owner must be a USDF member (Participating or Business).*
    • The horse's owner must be a USEF member (Junior, Senior, or Life).*
*at the time qualifying scores are earned and at the time of the championships.
  • Do you know the qualifying scores for each Level? (see Slick)
  • Do you know where to locate the prize list and entry form for your Regional Championship? (see Master Omnibus)
  • Do you know how to check your qualifying score? Use the Qualifying Scorecheck, which only pulls from the Qualifying Rides (see Qualifying Horse and Rider Scorecheck) and follow the instructions below:
    • Enter your horse's USDF lifetime registration number.
    • The only scores generated will be your qualifying scores from Dressage (not regular member competitions. You must have paid a $10 qualifying fee to enter this class. Only your scores within the qualifying dates for YOUR home/declared region are viable towards your Regional Championship.
    • Horse and rider must qualify together. Make sure you are checking the correct rider if more than one is listed under the horse's registration number.
    • Check rider and owner type of membership and amateur status, if applicable.
    • Find two scores at the minimum qualifying score for the level, making sure that you are checking the same level throughout as all levels will be listed on the same scorecheck.
    • Both scores must be from a different competition.
    • Both rides must have been scored by different judges.

If you see a ride you believe should be a qualifying ride and it is indicated as an Open Dressage class, you need to check your records to ensure that you paid the $10 qualifying fee. If so, check with USDF to see if the fee was received and ride incorrectly entered. If it was not, you will need to contact the competition secretary to confirm that it was a qualifying ride and that you paid the qualifying fee for the class. The secretary will need to submit a correction with the $10 qualifying fee. The ride cannot be corrected until the payment is received and processed.
