Youth Council

Mission

To promote dressage to young equestrians while providing for the future of the sport.

Goals

1. Provide educational opportunities.
2. Provide recognition programs.
3. Increase number of junior/young rider participants.
4. Promote sportsmanship at the junior/young rider level.

Objectives

1. Provide educational opportunities and recognition opportunities.
2. Increase number of youth members.
3. Further develop projects to support the USDF/USPC partnership.
4. Continue to promote the High School Dressage Club Pin program.
5. Outreach to other interscholastic organizations with dressage components.
6. Increase communication to youth in each region by contacting local groups and GMOs, providing them with information about USDF youth programs and the USDF website.
7. Interface with USDF councils and committees, encouraging more youth participation in other program areas.
8. Promote sportsmanship at the youth level.
9. Assist with the selection of the USEF Youth Sportsman’s Award and the USEF Youth Council representative.
10. Promote the youth divisions of the USDF Arts and Creativity contest.
